UNIQUE Finds: Bling Around Your Head!

Okay, okay, so I was able to get off of my "shoe kick" long enough to blog about these gorgeous headpieces by jennifer behr!

"jennifer behr creates a range of seductive headpieces - 21st century crowns - each one with its own appeal… crystals set in dark metal and hand-stitched to ethereal silk chiffons, braided ropes, slick patent leathers and tough studs. this season jennifer artfully incorporates it all to pin back even the unruliest of locks. the collection is made by hand in her studio and within a network of small workshops in brooklyn and manhattan. this results in hair accessories carrying the soul of handwork, while remaining thoroughly modern in appearance."

Out with the old tiara look! These are modern, chic, and...UNIQUE!

This is just a small sampling of the different pieces by jennifer behr. Check out her website for more phenomenal pieces!

UNIQUE Wedding: Heather & Michael

Heather and Mike are definitely a UNIQUE couple! When it came to their wedding, there was no exception! They wanted a wedding that was filled with fun and vintage beachy touches! Their color scheme of fuchsia & teal, with accents of chocolate, was bright and whimsical. Heather has the most beautiful curly blond locks, and her simple and elegant gown complemented them nicely. Heather carried a showstopping bouquet of white cymbidium orchids, and each bridesmaid had an array of colorful flowers that popped against the teal dresses. The guys were neutral, dressed in khaki & white. They looked so sharp! Heather and Mike opted to do a "first look" before the ceremony. Their faces were priceless! The guests walked across a boardwalk to get to the sandy ceremony site, where they were greeted with vintage postcard programs. The ceremony was complimented by the sound of crashing waves. The couple was married beneath the bamboo arbor accented with tropical flowers. Instead of the typical recessional tune, this couple danced down the aisle to James Last's "Aquarius!" Any '40 Year Old Virgin' fans out there? While the newlyweds stayed on the beach to capture some fantastic beach shots (are they not phenomenal?!), the guests headed upstairs for cocktail hour. The escort card table was adorable! The escort cards were little paper lounge chairs in sand, accented with little cocktail umbrellas. The ballroom was filled with fuchsia and teal light, and orchid centerpieces sat atop each guest table. The cake, white with fuchsia ribbon, had touches of starfish, orchids, and edible sand. The newlyweds WOWed all of their guests with an amazing choreographed first dance! All of their guests were on their feet cheering!

Vendor Feature: Tina Bass Photography

This week we are featuring the talented, Tina Bass Photography. I recently met Tina and was blown away by her work! Her style is soft and elegant, and she has a truly knows how to use light! Her passion is to capture the beauty the world has to offer.

"I am self taught in the art of photography. Art and music have touched me in some way all my life, which definitely affects the way I photograph. I love to capture the quirkiness of love and romance. Instead of focusing on the idealized view of romance. I want to focus on you.

"I LOVE what I do. Once the camera is in my hands, I find that my memory card is almost full! It has become a slight obsession of mine."

We are so excited to work with Tina Bass Photography this week, for Amanda and Anthony (Ant)'s wedding! She did an amazing job capturing their engagement shots, and we can't wait to see the wedding photos!

Fabulous Finds: Head Over Heels

Here we go again, I've come across more shoe fabulousness! Hey Lady, was founded by the the Leung Twins, Emily and Jessica, who take inspiration from their own shoe experiences, and design their shoes to have vintage style and modern comfort. Their philosophy is - "Why can't we have it all? Looking great and feeling event better."

"Hey Lady's mission is to inject fun and function into the wedding industry. They bring you the one and only stylish and comfortable wedding shoe. This collection combines an uncompromised sense of style and humor, and is made especially for rule-breakers and heart-breakers. Hey Lady's classic-with-a-twist designs possess a whimsical femininity and edgy personality. Finding Mr. Right was easy compared to finding The One, and by this we mean the perfect outfit. Cheeky and flirtatious, sexy and sophisticated? Let's fall head over heels in love all over again."

Their elegant designs combine Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn with a little Gwen Stefani, Rachel Bilson, and Katy Perry mixed in. The twins believe in pro-choice, the choice to have a killer shoe that isn’t a killer shoe. And thus the perfect pair was born.

Be sure to check out all of Hey Lady's fabulous designs!
